There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas than being surrounded by family and friends. That’s why, even with a winter COVID-19 surge currently taking place in Delaware, many churches are eager to swing open their doors and welcome worshipers inside to praise the birth of Jesus Christ.

“Now that President Joe Biden has signed the infrastructure bill into law, the pundits are pivoting to ask whether this victory will lift his political stock. A better question is, ‘How can Delaware make sure this victory lifts up vulnerable families across our state?’”
- It would be wonderful if the Delaware legislature would start fixing residential, community and neighborhood streets by repairing potholes and repaving. We have communities in New Castle County that haven’t had streets repaired/repaved in over 40 years, and it’s time to do it. Not to mention, we have crumbling curbs and failing catch basins everywhere in our communities. Time to rank them from worst to best and start addressing the residential streets, before property values are negatively impacted by a lack of upkeep and paving. Where have our tax dollars been going to keep our community streets and infrastructure in good repair and in operational condition? Seems to me that the squandered and misappropriated Community Transportation Funds that many legislators receive and spend on things other than community streets need to stop. How about passing a bond bill that fully funds and addresses repairing neighborhood streets and skip the pork projects for once? Again, where have our tax dollars been getting spent all these years? — Mark Blake
