With Delaware public schools experiencing the second-highest number of in-person COVID-19 cases this academic year, Capital School District announced Monday that it will return to remote learning ahead of winter break. The district initially announced Sunday evening via its social media platforms that classes in its secondary schools would be conducted virtually Monday. Then, on Monday night, a post on Dover High School’s Facebook page said all CSD schools would shift to virtual learning Tuesday and Wednesday.
- So, vaccines aren't working? — Howard Gaines III
- Yes, they are working very well. — Charlie Harper
- Stop abusing our children and let them live a normal life. You are literally killing them. Drug overdoses up, suicides up, and it’s because of dumb decisions like these because of government overreach. — Ryan Fenimore
- Except they did this super last minute and didn’t give parents any time to prepare. I’m lucky to be a stay at home mom but I feel for those who had to get out of work with short notice. — Jessica Penn
- They should have just said after break. What's another three days? — Nancy McCole Casper
- We just keep doing the same things with the same results. How many times do you have to be wrong before you admit you’ve been doing it wrong? — Michael Forcade
- Good idea, attempting to keep everyone safe. — Marcia Smith
- We're right back where we started, maybe even worse than before. Yet there isn't a politician in the country who is willing to say that things aren't working with the plan they've been using. Maybe some government figure needs to be brave enough to step up and say we've got to rethink our entire response to this. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. — Robin Celli
- Please, do lay out your plan. — Karen Chellquist
- More school districts to follow, you heard it here first. The last two weeks the local and state government has been setting the stage for another lockdown. Every day all I hear is “dark winter,” “cases skyrocketing,” “hospitals overwhelmed,” “worst part of the pandemic.” Just a little conditioning for you. — Christopher Joyce
