HARRINGTON — The Delaware State Fair has announced that Friday’s concert featuring country group Little Big Town has been canceled due to ongoing vocal cord issues with singer Jimi Westbrook.

Mr. Westbrook had surgery last month to remove a polyp and all shows had been postponed until Friday’s engagement but apparently he still needs more time to heal.

No statement from the band had been released as of Saturday afternoon. Their show the following night in St. Leonard, Maryland has also been scrapped.

State fair officials said the face value of tickets together with the handling fee and call center/mailing fee (for tickets purchased through the telephone call center) will be refunded.

The means and method for providing a refund can be found here.

In place of Little Big Town, the fair is planning another night of the demolition derby.

Doors will open at 6 pm. and show time is 7 at the M&T Bank Grandstand.

Friday’s show was to also feature country singers David Nail and Ashley Monroe.
