DOVER — The wait to find out who will play this year’s Firefly Music Festival will come to an end this week.
Officials have announced that the full lineup will be unveiled Friday at 10 a.m. with tickets going on sale later that day at 1 p.m.
Five acts were named Sunday as part of a social media contest.
A pair of VIP tickets were hidden in five cities on the East Coast with fans seeing a map on Twitter that kept zooming in until the location was revealed. After the tickets were claimed in each city, a different act was announced.
Five of the more than 100 artists expected to play Firefly this year were revealed to be soul/dance quintet MisterWives, Philadelphia rapper Lil Dicky, English indie rock band Glass Animals, Swedish electronic dance group Galantis and American pop duo Capital Cities.
Capital Cities played Firefly in 2013 and Glass Animals performed at the Dover event in 2015.
Tickets were placed Sunday in Dover, Wilmington, Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia.
This year’s festival is set for June 15-18 at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway.
The 2016 highlight video was released Monday and is shown above.
The full lineup will be available at DelawareStateNews.net Friday morning.
