DOVER — Dover Air Force Base is scheduled to hold a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Air Mobility Command Museum, located adjacent to the base.
The guest speaker at the event will be William Raff, a 9/11 survivor who was on the 82nd floor of 2 World Trade Center when the second plane entered the building.
Mr. Raff worked at 2 World Trade Center from October 1994 to September 11, 2001. He lost 23 colleagues in the attacks and has been a docent with the 9/11 Museum since 2017.
“Each year, we take time to honor the victims and reflect upon the tragedy that occurred on Sept. 11th, 2001,” Col. Chris McDonald, 436th Airlift Wing commander, said in a press release.
“The extraordinary and courageous acts of selflessness and heroism that occurred in the wake of this tragic event displayed the resiliency and compassion of the American people in the face of horrific acts of hatred and violence.”
