Register for Dogfish Dash and support the Sussex County Land Trust
By MILTON — While the nearly four-mile race won’t be run until Sept. 29, registration is now open for the annual Dogfish Dash, with all proceeds going to benefit the Sussex County Land Trust.
Runners can register at: https://runsignup.com/Race/DE/Milton/DogfishDash for $50 per person, and those who sign up before Aug. 16 get presents like a T-shirt. Participants over 21 will also receive two drink tickets for post-run refreshments.
The Sussex County Land Trust is working to develop newly established parks and preserves throughout the county, including Hopkins Preserve, Hudson Park and the Forest of the Broadkill Preserve. These properties will provide active hiking and biking trails, as well as other recreational opportunities.
The event will also feature a recycled costume contest, and participants are encouraged to craft outfits from recycled materials for a chance at prizes.
This year, prizes will be awarded for the best group costumes, as well as two awards for best dressed person.
