SMYRNA — It’s an event venue and creative space that’s nestled in the heart of downtown.

At the intersection of well-traveled Main and Commerce streets sits Social at Main, a new venture in a historic area.

Co-owner Brandon Howie said calls from would-be customers have been arriving daily since its Jan. 27 opening. The facility’s first event was an 18th-birthday party with 50-60 attendees.

And there’s plenty of other ways to use the space, according to Mr. Howie, including bridal or baby showers, photo shoots, bar mitzvahs, Halloween parties, speed dating and networking gatherings.

Also, there’s a room for podcasters “to come in and do their own thing,” Mr. Howie said.

Part of Social at Main’s mission, as well, is to offer pop-up tables for small-business owners who don’t have space to market their wares.

Mr. Howie and his co-owner and wife, Latoya Boseman-Howie, operated their business in Smyrna’s Freedom Plaza for two years before the opening of this site, but “it was tucked away and didn’t get a lot of traffic,” he said.

That prompted the relocation to 1 W. Commerce St. in the ever-expanding town.

“There’s a lot of people coming from other areas and a lot that already live here,” Mr. Howie said. “Things are changing, and people want to do a lot.”

Those looking to book the establishment will see prices of $75 per hour for the podcast room or $550 for four hours/$800 for six hours in the event room.

On socialatmain.com, the location is described as offering “an upscale design, luxurious decor, bluetooth surround sound system, multiple Tv’s, and a beautiful floral photo-op wall.”

Plus, several options regarding decor, catering, photo booths, DJ entertainment and photography are available.
