Smyrna man arrested in shooting case

SMYRNA — A 23-year-old Smyrna man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident on Monday, authorities said.

Smyrna Police spokesperson Lt. Brian Donner said Theodrick Onley turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday.

The case involved the shooting of a 25-year-old man who was found in a yard in the 300 block of Braddock Road, Lt. Donner said. Police said Thursday that the man remained hospitalized in stable condition.

Mr. Onley was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and first-degree reckless endangering. He was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $112,2000 cash bond.
