The Clayton Fire Co. and the Citizens’ Hose Co. of Smyrna recently awarded Connor Wilson, right, the John M. Pridemore Memorial Scholarship in honor of Chief Pridemore, who lost his life in the line of duty at the Clayton station in March 2022. Mr. Wilson graduated from Smyrna High School this year with a GPA of 4.082. He was a member of the Blue & Gold Club, the National Honor Society, the Student Government Association and the Student Leadership Advisory Committee, and was the president of the Letterman’s Club. He was presented the $1,500 award by Clayton’s vice president, Rodney Whalen.
