Bear man in fatal collision identified by Delaware State Police

MIDDLETOWN — The Delaware State Police have identified Kristopher Battles, 24, of Bear, as the man who died in a fatal collision Tuesday.

Police said that Mr. Battles died after being ejected from the motorcycle he was operating that struck a motor vehicle. The incident occurred at 10:53 p.m. on Summit Bridge Road at the intersection of Armstrong Corner Road, authorities said.

The driver of the motor vehicle, a 17-year-old Middletown man, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Cpl. D. Franck by calling 302-660-3783. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
