Utility relocations to cause Long Neck lane closures

LONG NECK — The Delaware Department of Transportation announced that Delaware Electric Cooperative will be relocating its transmission pole at the northwest corner of the Del. 24/John J Williams Highway and Del. 5/Indian Mission Road intersection in Long Neck. The intersection will be placed on flash while work is being performed on March 14-15.

The work will take place on March 14 starting at 7 a.m. and will last until March 15 at 7 p.m., pending weather.

There will be a right turn lane closure from southbound Del. 24/John J Williams Highway to westbound Del. 5/Indian Mission Road. There will also be a left turn lane closure from eastbound Del. 5/Indian Mission Road to northbound Del. 24/John J Williams Highway.

Motorists should expect delays along Del. 24/John J Williams Highway, Del. 5/Indian Mission Road and Del. 23/Long Neck Road. Flaggers will be on hand to direct motorists.
