DOVER — A 25-year-old Seaford woman was charged with drug and firearm offenses following a Friday night traffic stop for a stop sign violation, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman.

Kylie Smack also failed to signal while driving in the area of Reese Street and Paul Street at approximately 8:20 p.m., police said.

During the stop, officers observed marijuana in plain view in the center console of the vehicle, according to Sgt. Hoffman. Officers took Ms. Smack into custody without incident and located a black safe inside of the vehicle, police said. Three grams of fentanyl in the form of counterfeit Percocet pills, a 9mm handgun, and two magazines were found inside of the safe, police said.

Ms. Smack was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of marijuana, possession of fentanyl, and traffic violations. She was released on an own recognizance bond.
