Dover KFC burglarized early Tuesday

DOVER — Dover police are investigating a burglary that occurred on Tuesday morning at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant at 233 S. DuPont Highway.

At 2:33 a.m., officers responded to the restaurant for an alarm activation. Arriving officers observed that the drive-thru window was broken.

Video surveillance showed that a male suspect entered the business after breaking the window with a hammer and proceeded to damage cash registers and a safe with the hammer. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was wearing a dark colored jacket with rectangular stitching on the back, with a light-colored hood, dark pants and gloves, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com. A cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
