Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice to present ‘A Legacy of Opportunity’

Posted

In honor of Black History Month, the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice will present “A Legacy of Opportunity” at its February Town Hall Meeting.

Focusing on the history of Delaware State University, Delaware’s only Historically Black College and University, the online program will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, via Zoom.

Founded in 1891 as the State College for Colored Students, DSU is one of the country’s first land-grant educational institutions. While proud of its long history as one of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities, today DSU is a welcoming center of learning for students from many backgrounds.

Following a DSU video, a panel of alumni will reminisce about their days at the university and lessons learned that they have carried with them throughout their lives.

To register for the town hall or for more information, go to www.sdarj.org.
