Flight restrictions remain until Wednesday

REHOBOTH BEACH — Recovering from COVID-19 and following his announcement Sunday to withdraw from his reelection campaign, President Joe Biden has extended his stay at the coast until at least Wednesday evening.

According to Federal Aviation Administration flight restrictions, the president was originally scheduled to depart early Monday. But the agency extended the restriction instead, scheduling it to end at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

According to President Biden’s public schedule, he arrived in Rehoboth Beach at 11:20 p.m. July 17, after canceling a Las Vegas event. Also that day, the White House confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

His schedule reports that he has attended no public events since being diagnosed. He did, however, release a letter Sunday, stating his intention to withdraw from his campaign.

Also in the letter, he promised to speak to the nation later this week.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the White House published an update on President Biden’s health from his physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor.

The doctor reported that his patient had taken his 10th dose of Paxlovid and that his symptoms had “almost resolved completely.”

Dr. O’Connor also stated that the president had been performing all his required duties.
