DALLAS (AP) — Coach Steve Sarkisian and No. 1 Texas certainly know about going into their Red River rivalry game already with two losses. It's the exact position the Longhorns were in last October, and they know what happened then. Texas is 4-0 going into Saturday's game against 2-2 Oklahoma. The Horns last year had plummeted from preseason No. 1 to unranked for the game in the middle of the State Fair of Texas. They then beat previously undefeated No. 6 Oklahoma. This will be the 122nd game in the series, with fans in burnt orange and crimson split at the 50-yard line inside the historic 92,100-seat Cotton Bowl Stadium.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A hurricane is menacing the Gulf Coast, but President Donald Trump remains eager to attend a big college football game in Alabama on Saturday night. Trump hopes to visit Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Top 10 Alabama-Georgia matchup. Officials are still discussing how the storm might affect the game. Trump said on Wednesday that he doesn't want to do anything to strain resources. His love of sports and large crowds are often key factors in his travel plans, even close to the Nov. 3 midterm elections. The White House sees the games as a way to energize Republicans, but others say mixing sports and politics can be risky.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia and Alabama are set for a big showdown Saturday night but Hurricane Isaias might disrupt plans. Both teams are preparing as usual, with safety as the top priority. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton is in top form, while Alabama's defense has been strong against him in the past. Georgia's defense is also performing well, with standout players like Raylen Wilson and Chris Cole. Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell is having an impressive season, leading the team to a 5-0 start. The rivalry remains intense as they meet for the 76th time. It's the 13th meeting with both programs being ranked in the top 10.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama guard Aden Holloway is serving a five-game suspension after his arrest on a drug charge. Coach Nate Oats announced Thursday that Holloway will miss three exhibition games and two regular-season games. Holloway was arrested in March after authorities found marijuana in his apartment. He was charged with first-degree marijuana possession, but the charges were dismissed after he completed a pretrial diversion program. Oats praised Holloway's efforts to return to the team. Holloway missed the first game of his suspension Thursday and is expected to return November 9 against Oakland.

UNDATED (AP) — Hurricane Isaias could make landfall on the U.S. Gulf Coast this weekend, just before a major college football game between Georgia and Alabama. President Trump plans to attend the game on Saturday night. Isaias strengthened into a hurricane late Wednesday, and forecasters say it could make landfall late Friday or early Saturday somewhere along the Alabama-Mississippi-Florida coastlines The storm might cause schools to cancel or move games. Georgia and Alabama have not disclosed backup plans for the game. The storm could bring flash floods, dangerous winds, and heavy rain. Alabama meteorologist James Spann suggests moving the game to Sunday night.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia and Alabama, both unbeaten, are set to clash in a high-stakes SEC matchup on Saturday. Georgia's offense, led by Gunner Stockton, has been dominant, outscoring opponents by 190 points. Georgia leads the SEC in scoring. Alabama's quarterback, Keelon Russell, has impressed with 1,414 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Texas faces Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry game. Texas is favored after a recent win over Tennessee. Missouri's Austin Simmons and Jamal Roberts shined in a victory against Florida.

UNDATED (AP) — Missouri freshman offensive tackle Johnnie “DJ” Jones has received a heart transplant, coach Eli Drinkwitz said. Drinkwitz announced on X on Thursday morning that the surgery Wednesday night went well and that Jones was recovering. Drinkwitz says “we are incredibly grateful for the medical team who cared for DJ and for the donor and donor family whose extraordinary gift made this possible.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The ninth-ranked Mississippi Rebels can’t wait for Kewan Lacy’s return, knowing how valuable the running back is to Trinidad Chambliss and the offense. Vanderbilt hopes starting quarterback Jared Curtis is back Saturday when the Commodores put their 10-game home winning streak on the line against the Rebels. Ole Miss had an open date last week to regroup after a loss at Florida. The extra time off should help Lacy return from the injured left shoulder that knocked him out of Ole Miss’ win over LSU and kept him out of that loss to Florida. Ole Miss has won five straight in this series.
