The Delaware Department of Education will name the Delaware Behavioral Health Professional of the Year at a celebration June 8.
The winner will be chosen from among the local winners, named by the state’s 19 school districts and the Delaware Charter School Network.
This program is administered by the department to recognize outstanding service by school employees who are health care practitioners or human service providers and offer services to improve mental health.
Employees considered for the award include counselors, social workers, licensed clinical social workers, psychologists and nurses.
Each local honoree received a $2,000 award from their district or charter school.
The state winner will garner an additional $3,000 award from the department, as well as $5,000 to be used for the educational benefit of his or her students.
The district/charter winners are:
