Woman dies from injuries sustained in Hartly crash

HARTLY — A 45-year-old Sudlersville, Maryland woman died Saturday from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash one day earlier, authorities said.

Delaware State Police said Cindy Fisher was driving a Chevrolet Malibu at approximately 11:38 p.m. Friday when it left Arthursville Road east of Gunter Road for unknown reasons and struck a sign. The vehicle then turned over and became engulfed in flames.

Ms. Fisher was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where she was admitted for critical injuries. The passenger of the Malibu, a 33-year-old man from Hartly, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues investigating this incident. Troopers asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Master Cpl. J. Lane by calling 302- 698-8457. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
