Bayhealth recently appointed two new members to its Board of Directors.

Scott R. Brown, CPA/PFS, has been involved in the financial services industry since 1985. He was the managing member of Wealth Management Group, LLC from 2001 until it joined Savant in 2023.

Prior to that, Mr. Brown was a managing partner for R.F. Book & Associates, PA CPAs, which joined with Savant Tax and Consulting.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Wilmington (OH) College. He is a certified public accountant and holds the personal financial specialist credential issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Brown is also a member of Bayhealth’s Business and Investment Committee and is a member of the Delaware Board of Accountancy.

Stephen G. Manifold, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been practicing in the central Delaware region for the past 25 years.

After completing medical school at Temple University and finishing his orthopedic surgery residency program at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, he completed a fellowship in knee reconstruction and sports medicine at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute in New York. Dr. Manifold specializes in knee and shoulder reconstruction and replacement in the practice of First State Orthopaedics, where he is a partner.

Dr. Manifold serves on the medical staff of both the Bayhealth Kent Campus and Sussex Campus. He has served as the director of Orthopedic Surgery at Bayhealth since 2010 and has initiated the implementation of evidence-based protocols and standardization across the division to improve patient outcomes.

During his tenure, the Bayhealth Division of Orthopedics achieved Joint Commission Accreditation in total hip and knee replacement, as well as Premier certification by the International Geriatric Fracture Society for management of hip fractures.

“Bayhealth and its Board of Directors are very fortunate to have such diverse expertise across all members of the board, each of whom volunteer their time and talent to lead Bayhealth in its mission of strengthening the health of our community, one life at a time,” said Gregory Moore, chair of Bayhealth’s Board of Directors.

“Mr. Brown and Dr. Manifold bring a wealth of knowledge in their respective fields to further complement the board in guiding the future of Bayhealth’s continuing commitment to the communities we serve.”
