EASTON —The Talbot County Department of Social Services (TCDSS) Children’s Library recently received a generous book donation of over 500 books from the Chesapeake Bay Cadet and Senior Girl Scout Troop #29 of Secretary. The Girl Scouts collected books from family, friends and throughout a variety of community locations.
The TCDSS library provides books to children and families as they wait in the lobby for a host of different services. Customers are encouraged to read with their children while they are waiting and take books with them for reading at home. Families are frequently observed choosing their favorite book, interacting in the lobby and taking a special book to read at home with them.
“The library is a wonderful resource for the families we serve, said Linda Webb, director of the Talbot County DSS. The agency is proud to encourage quality time and truly appreciates the support from Troop #29’s recent donation.”
Since the library’s inception in 2013 the department has given away over 3,000 books to children and families. TCDSS hopes to continue this library for years to come. If you are interested in donating new or gently used books, please contact Dawn Coleman at 410 770-4727.
