Man Injured In City Shooting

CAMBRIDGE — On Nov.26 at approximately 3 p.m. Cambridge Police were called to respond to the emergency room department at the University Of Maryland Shore Medical Center in reference to a male subject that came in with a gunshot wound to his facial area.

While the victim was being attended to by emergency room personnel information regarding the incident was attempted to be obtained by detectives, however, the victim has been uncooperative at this point.

Further investigation has led detectives to Bayly Road and Pine Street and is believed to be the area where the incident took place. There is no suspect description or information to give at this time.

The victim a 25-year-old male (whose name is not being released at this time) is currently being cared for at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore and is listed in stable condition.

CDS ARREST / DUI: On Nov. 19, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Island Creek Road and Sanderstown Road, Trappe, Talbot County. Upon arrival, Deputies located a motor vehicle overturned, resting on its roof. Deputies identified the operator as Chelsy Chesaria Bentley, 28 of Cordova, and a passenger in the vehicle as Daniel Logan Adams, 28 of Trappe.

Bentley was found to be under the influence of alcohol and a probable cause search revealed heroin and paraphernalia. Bentley and Adams were charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, with Bentley also being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Adams and Bentley were taken before a District Court Commissioner who released them on their personal recognizance.

WARRANT ARREST: On Nov. 26, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mark Whitten, 43 of East New Market.

Whitten had three outstanding bench warrants for failing to appear in Talbot County District Court. Whitten was transported to Talbot County Central Booking where he was held pending his initial appearance with the Talbot County District Court Commissioner.

Whitten was later released on his own personal recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.
