Obermeier earns professional certification

CAMBRIDGE — The Bay Country Racquet Club located at 515-B Leonards Lane in Cambridge announces that George Obermeier, one of the partners in the club, has completed the education requirements and passed all parts of the exam to earn Professional Pickleball Registry’s Certification to teach Pickleball.


Mr. Obermeier completed a comprehensive on court and written examination administered by PPR to become certified as a PPR Certified Pickleball Pro. George is also a certified USPTR Tennis Pro.
PPR is a subsidiary of Professional Tennis Registry, the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals and coaches with 16,5000 members in 125 countries. PPR is the largest and fastest growing organization of Pickleball Pros. PPR is dedicated to educating, certifying and serving pickleball pros around the world. The Bay Country Racquet Club is the only indoor tennis facility in Dorchester County and has been here and locally owned since 1976. The club offers league play and open play tennis and league play and open play Pickleball.
Pickleball hours for drop in play are Monday and Thursday night from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“We have four dedicated pickleball courts with the ability to expand to eight courts if needed” says Mr. Obermeier, adding “there are plenty of times available for groups to get a court together for pickleball or tennis.”
