Electric vehicle rebates introduced for new, used cars in Delaware

DOVER — Starting Wednesday, Delaware will offer rebates for used plug-in or battery-powered electric vehicles, as well as implement a tiered discount structure for new vehicles.

Used vehicles must be purchased from a licensed dealership, have a market value of less than $40,000 and be less than eight model years old to qualify.

Discounts include $2,500 rebates for new or used battery vehicles valued at $40,000 or less, $1,500 for new battery vehicles priced between $40,000-50,000 and $1,000 rebates for new plug-in hybrids priced less than $50,000 and used plug-in hybrids valued below $40,000.
