Mary R. Cameron, right, is presented with an award by the Friends of the Library for her recent donation in memory of her husband, Donald Cameron Sr.
One of our most loyal patrons, Mary Cameron, recently made a thoughtful donation to the Dorchester County Public Library in memory of her husband Donald Cameron Sr. Below is a letter she would like to share with readers: “Do you feel tired, weary, or distressed? Go for a free day vacation at our wonderful, beautiful Dorchester County Public Library. Whatever your interest may be — religion, photography, gardening, flowers, sailing, travel, mystery, or history — the kind and generous staff of the Dorchester Library are ever willing to assist you in finding anything of your interest. Now relax, settle back, and enjoy. “My husband, Donald Cameron Sr., was a very avid reader, especially after retiring. He would ride his bike to town and, after a session with his coffee drinking buddies, head to the library many times, spending the rest of the afternoon. “I, too, am a very avid reader, and the library staff has always been so kind, helping me find my selection. “As I look around this wonderful educational place, think how nice it would be if there was someone special in your life that you would love to honor or donate in memory of, what a worthwhile gesture that would be for the upkeep of this lovely library. “I am so very proud of the Dorchester County Public Library.
