Aliyah Collins was recognized on Senior Night, at halftime during Thursday’s varsity game. Aliyah was escorted by her sister Brandi Wilson and her brother, Derrell Collins.[/caption] CAMBRIDGE — The Lady Vikings’ basketball players, coaches and fans on Thursday’s Senior Night thanked two girls for their contributions to the team. Aliyah Collins and Ron’Quisha Pritchett received bouquets as they passed between rows of their teammates to the applause of the home crowd. Aliyah, who has been on the varsity team all four of her years at C-SD, was escorted by her brother Derrell Collins and her sister, Brandi Wilson. She plans to attend Coppin State or Salisbury University, to major in criminal justice/law enforcement. Her quotes to remember for the players of next season were, “You practice how you play,” and “There is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory.” Her words to the coaches were, “You guys taught me how to become a better basketball player, you pushed me to limits I thought I was not going to be able to reach, but with your help, I was able to succeed. I thank each of you for all the hard work you did for me throughout this season.” Ron’Quisha, who played on the varsity team this year, was escorted by her father, William Chester. She plans to attend Geneva College and to major in the medical field. Her quote to remember for the players of next season was, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” Her words to the coaches were, “Have a nice season in the years to come.
