Bat girls and ball players danced during Sunday’s performance of “Damn Yankees” by the Class of 2015 at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School.[/caption] CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Class of 2015 continued the senior tradition of musical theater with performances of “Damn Yankees” Friday through Sunday. The final show, a Sunday matinee, drew a near-capacity crowd to the school’s auditorium. A prepared statement from Director Mike James and Co-Director Donna James said, “Eighteen years ago, the C-SD Class of 1997 performed ‘Damn Yankees.’ Since then, we have regarded it as one of our favorite senior class plays, performed by one of the most talented classes to ever grace our stage. So, it was with some trepidation that we began the process of reviving this play. But, from the moment this production was cast, there was never a doubt that this class had the ‘Heart’ to make ‘Damn Yankees’ a success.” The directors were joined by Choreographer Jessica Hindman Wheatley, Musical Director Laura Todd, Vocal Coach Arlinda Barnes, and Stage Manager Natalie Brewer-James. On the student staff were Producer Paloma Sterrett, Stage Managers Thomas Anderson and Erik Hauge, Choreographer Maddie Watkins, Hair and Makeup Coordinator Sheniell Sinclair and Buttons Dylan Anderson. Musicians were Conductor/Drums Shelby Clendaniel, Piano Laura Todd, Trombone Craig Dueling, Clarinet and Trumpet Scott Bunting, Guitar Moe Weimer, Bass Gary Barnes, Clarinet and Percussion Kailee Bullock, Baritone Horn and French Horn Jacob Dashiell, Flute Ashley Willey, Tenor Sax Marquis Harbert and Alto Sax Jacob Kruger.
