EASTON — University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced plans for its 4th Annual Sporting Clays Classic, scheduled for June 9, at The Point at Pintail in Queenstown. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wellness for Women program offered through the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center at UM Shore Regional Health.

This year’s Sporting Clays Classic will feature 75 targets, lunch for participants and various prizes, raffles as well as a silent auction. Participant registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the shoot beginning at 9:15 a.m. Early-bird participant registration fees are: $125 per individual and $500 per team of four if you register before May 10; prices will increase after May 10. Registration is limited to 300 participants.

“The Clark Comprehensive Breast Center and Wellness for Women team are grateful for the continued support of our local community,” says Roberta J. The Wellness for Women breast cancer prevention program at the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center is an educational and screening program that promotes early detection of breast cancer. The goal of the Wellness for Women program is to find women who are at risk for breast cancer early so diagnosis can be made when the disease is curable.

“The funds raised through the Sporting Clays Classic help us provide women with resources they need to stay informed and healthy,” says Jennifer Dyott, nurse practitioner with UM Community Medical Group – Women’s Health. “Patient education and early detection screenings for breast cancer are important for the women in our community.”
