NEW CASTLE —A World Environment Day celebration event will be held June 1 at Veterans Memorial Park, the Delaware River and Bay Authority announced today.

The free public event – featuring exhibits, giveaway items, and interactive, static displays – will be open at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The park is located at 163 Cherry Lane.

“Our World Environment Day celebration, which last year focused on sustainable living with our environment, has been expanded to include topics and exhibits on health and safety, wellness, healthy living, eco-friendly/green products, safe work practices and protective equipment,” said Silvana Dominioni, Director of the DRBA Environmental, Health and Safety Department.

“Education and public outreach are the keys to World Environment Day’s goal to inspire change. If we work together, we can make a difference.”
