Two unknown suspects sought in Dover home invasion

DOVER — Two unidentified suspects in a home invasion remained at large on Thursday as authorities continued to investigate.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the Tuesday night incident in the 100 block of Ann Avenue was not considered a random crime.

“We do not believe that to be the case, but are uncertain of motive at this time,” he said.

Dover PD reported that preliminary investigation determined that two black male suspects wearing all black clothing reportedly entered a single-family home at 9:54 p.m. and confronted a 28-year-old resident. Authorities said suspects were armed and ordered the resident to the ground, with one pointing a gun at the resident.

While the resident was being held at gunpoint, police said, one suspect ransacked the home; the resident’s cell phone was stolen during the invasion, police said.

No details on the nature and extent of the ransacking were available, police said.

Police said they were notified of the incident by a phone call.

Dover PD said investigation is continuing and asked anyone with information to call 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.

Tips can also be submitted to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or online at www.tipsubmit.com or through the Dover PD.
