DOVER — Two women have been arrested in connection with a Wednesday shooting.
Dover police spokesman Cpl. Ryan Schmid said that, at 11:36 p.m., a patrol officer heard gunshots in the area of John Hunn Brown and South Little Creek roads. Following the shots, the officer observed a vehicle quickly leaving the area.
The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the occupants — Jalisa Agard, 35, of Middletown, and Akosua Whitted, 39, of Dover.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old Dover woman reported that she had been shot at in the same area, Cpl. Schmid said. No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.
Officers searched the vehicle and located two loaded 9 mm handguns. They subsequently determined that the occupants were responsible for the shooting, authorities said.
Both women were charged with first-degree reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and second-degree conspiracy.
Ms. Agard and Ms. Whitted were committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, New Castle, on $48,000 and $44,000 cash bail, respectively.
