GEORGETOWN — Community fun with an anti-drug and -alcohol message returns to the Richard Allen School next month.
Everlasting Hope Ministries announced that its 29th annual Tent Services will be held Aug. 16-18 and 21, while its 29th annual Community Anti-Drug Rally and March will be Aug. 20.
March participants will be carrying signs and spreading their mission through the streets of Georgetown, beginning at the school’s grounds, 316 S. Railroad Ave., at 11 a.m.
Back at Richard Allen, activities will be held noon-4 p.m., to include a variety of games, food, bounce houses, train rides, door prizes and more, all free of charge. Vendor tables will also be available for those interested in distributing literature and other items.
Meanwhile, the Tent Services Tuesday through Thursday will begin at 7 p.m., with Sunday’s at 3 p.m.
The purpose of these gatherings — all open to the public — is to encourage individuals whose lives have been adversely affected by drugs or alcohol. A speaker will present a message nightly to inspire and challenge those in attendance to resist such vices.
The schedule is as follows:
A testimony service will be held during Sunday’s finale.
