Milford High collected 10 pins in registering a 74-6 victory over Lake Forest in Henlopen Conference Southern Division wrestling on Wednesday night.

The Buccaneers are 5-0 in the South, 6-0 overall. They have won their last 20 South matches.

Winning by fall for Milford were Robbie Rosser (113 pounds), Jace Darling (126), Alex Creasey (126), Gavin Garcia (132), Barton Dalious (145), Chase Taylor (152), Wesly Saint-Vil (160), Bevensky Augustine (170), Kenny VanVorst (182) and Bryon Wynes (285),

Tony Williams (220) had a pin for the Spartans (4-1 South, 4-3).

Cape Henlopen 48, Sussex Tech 15: The Vikings reeled off the final 24 points to pull away to the Henlopen North victory.

Maxwell Norquest (126) finished off the match with a first-period pin while Dewaun Johnson (106) had a 54-second fall for the quickest of the night.

Vincent Diego (138) and Cory Lawson (160) also won by pin for Caoe.

Marvin Spady (195) had a pin for the Ravens.

Indian River 39, Conrad 34: The Indians won six of eight bouts in the middle of the match to clinch the nonconference win.

Mitchell Bolton (113) had a 47-second pin for IR with Matthew Meredith (106) and Cody Brainard (132) also winning by fall.

Boys’ basketball

St. Thomas More 64, Delmarva Christian 44: The Ravens (11-2) built a 22-point lead after three quarters before posting their four straight win.

Elias Revelle (16), Corey Gordon (14), Patrick Magee (13) and Zion Cole (11) all scored in double figures for St. Thomas More.

The Royals’ Micah Magee had 16 points with Liam Catron netting 13.

Girls’ basketball

St. Thomas More 43, Delmarva Christian 23: Sarah Pool scored 16 points and Aniah Patterson had 15 to pace the Ravens improved to 11-1.

That equals the most victories for St. Thomas More since 2011. The Ravens outscored the Royals, 17-5, in the second quarter to take control.

Ashlee McCoy led Delmarva Christian with 12 points.

Smyrna 48, Sussex Tech 45: Melena Credle netted 29 points to pace the Eagles to the Henlopen North win on Tuesday night.

Credle sank 13 of Smyrna’s 20 total three-pointers. Jayla smith added 10 points for the Eagles.

Rukiya Davis had a team-high 19 points for the Ravens with Heaven Carter adding 11.

College basketball

MEN, Wesley 89, Marymount 80: The win allowed the Wolverines (4-6 CAC, 6-11 overall) to keep pace with the rest of the Capital Athletic Conference.

With only six teams making the conference playoffs, seven teams are separated by just one game ranging from third place to ninth place in the standings. Wesley is one of five teams with a 4-6 record.

Anthony Bowers finished with 14 points and seven assists while Wayne Lennon had 20 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and three shots in the Wolverines’ third consecutive victory.

Down the stretch, Wesley went 12-for-16 from the foul line in the final 3:34 to seal the victory.

WOMEN, Marymount 57, Wesley 52: The Wolverines nearly pulled off an upset of the Capital Athletic Conference-leading Saiints.

Wesley (3-7 CAC, 4-13 overall) led by as many as six points in the third quarter and were still up by one going into the fourth.

But Marymount’s defense limited the Wolverines to just nine points on 4-for-16 shooting in the fourth quarter.

Alexus Stroud (Smyrna) led the Wolverines with 15 points off the bench. Brionna Johnson (Smyrna) pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds, but was held to just five points by the Marymount defense.

Hens announce recruiting class: Delaware women’s basketball coach Tina Martin announced the signing of four high school recruits as well as the addition of one transfer for next season.

The Blue Hens signed Samone DeFreese, Abby Gonzales, Bailey Kargo and Rebecca Lawrence along with former Sanford standout Alison Lewis, who is transferring from Providence. Lewis will be eligible for competition beginning in January, 2017.

Lewis played three semesters for the Friars. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 rebounds in 27 games at Providence.

A two-time Delaware first-team All-State honoree, Lewis helped Sanford to the 2014 state title while putting up 16.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game during her senior campaign.

“Alison is an athletic, slashing guard who can really handle the ball,” said Martin stated.  “She is a lockdown defender and has good anticipation skills. She has the winning mentality and will bring a competitive attitude to our program.”
