The St. Thomas More boys’ basketball team dropped an out-of-state contest on Friday night, 64-60 to Parkway Center City High of Pennsylvania.

It snapped a four-game winning streak as the Ravens dropped to 4-2.

Polytech 64, Sussex Central 54: In a game played on Thursday night, the Panthers hit 11 threes on their way to a Henlopen Conference Northern Division victory.

Zach Price drained four three-pointers for 14 points while Camron Satchell was Polytech’s leading scorer with 15.

The Panthers have won their last two games to improve to 2-2,

Girls’ basketball

St. Thomas More 54, Appoquinimink 42: The Ravens earned a victory on Thursday night behind Aniah Patterson’s game-high 19 points.

Sasha Marvel scored 15 for St. Thomas More while Amaja’ Mack chipped in 12.

Polytech 49, McKean 12: In a game contested on Thursday, Polytech recorded its first win of the season led by 11 points from Tamia Mathias.

Men’s basketball

Wesley 91, Southern Virginia 74: Wesley finished its semester on a high note, earning a victory over Capital Athletic Conference foe Southern Virginia University Friday at Wentworth Gymnasium.

Wayne Lennon led the Wolverines with an outstanding effort, netting 20 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Five Wolverines finished in double figures with JW Lawson netting 23 points, Rasahn Brinkleyscoring 13, Jordan Johnson scoring 11 and Evan Anderson netting 10.

As a team Wesley shot 54.5% from the floor, netting 36-of-66 shots from the field. From behind the arc, the team shot 41.7% on 10-for-24 shooting.

The squad limited their turnovers, giving the ball away just 14 times. Wesley outscored the Knights in transition 14-2 and earned assists on 25 of their 36 field goals.

College football

UD’s Curtis on All-East squad: Yet another postseason honor has been bestowed upon Ben Curtis.

The University of Delaware senior offensive tackle earned a spot on the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-East Football second team announced on Friday.

The ECAC includes all NCAA FCS schools that participate in the Colonial Athletic Association, Ivy League, Patriot League, and Northeast Conference. Curtis, a 6-6, 290 lb. offensive tackle, was previously named first team All-Colonial Athletic Association in November, earned a spot on the College Sports Madness All-American third team on Dec. 10, and garnered second team Associated Press All-American laurels on Wednesday.

Curtis was a four-year starter and was the lone Blue Hen selected to the All-CAA first team during the 2015 season. Also a second team All-CAA pick in 2014, Curtis played in 43 career games for Delaware and started each of his final 40 contests. He anchored an offensive front that has helped Delaware rank No. 2 in the CAA and No. 17 nationally in rushing offense at 219.4 yards per game in 2015.
