Dover High put the finishing touches on its Henlopen Conference Northern Division title on Tuesday night.

By downing Sussex Central, 69-28, the Senators finished a perfect 12-0 in North games.

It’s the first time Dover has accomplished the feat since the conference went to a divisional schedule in 2009-10.

The Senators (16-3) finish the regular season with a 13-game winning streak. Dover will host Southern Division champion Milford on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Henlopen Conference championship game.

The Senators broke open Tuesday’s game by outscoring the Golden Knights, 33-8, in the second quarter. Jordan Allen (18 points), who sank four three-pointers, Troy Scott (13), Steven Justice (11) and Terrance Woodlin (10) all scored in double figures for Dover.

Tai’Ron Abbott hit three three-pointers to score a team-high nine points for Central.

Smyrna 73, A.I. duPont 60: The Eagles outscored the Tigers, 26-15, in the fourth quarter to break open a two-point game.

Ja’vier Worthy tallied a team-high 23 points with Zaire Swaby (12) and Charlie Taylor (11) also scoring in double figures for Smyrna (17-3).

The Eagles finish the regular season with a six-game winning streak.

Woodbridge 51, Caesar Rodney 40: Cornell Corbin tallied 14 points as the Raiders finished the regular season at 14-6.

Hassan Corbin and Ja’mi Ross added 11 points apiece for Woodbridge, which opened up a 17-6 lead in the first quarter.

Davione Robinson scored 10 points to lead the Riders.

Cape Henlopen 47, Brandywine 30: Ian Robertson netted 14 points while Randy Rickards added 10 to pace the Vikings.

Cape, which finishes the regular season at 12-8, led 30-12 after three quarters.

St. Mark’s 44, Polytech 32: The Spartans outscored the Panthers, 10-4, in the fourth quarter to hold onto the victory.

Girls’ basketball

Sussex Central 36, Dover 33: The Golden Knights overcame a nine-point, third-quarter deficit to force a playoff for the Henlopen Conference Northern Division title.

Central will play Caesar Rodney for the North crown today at Milford at 7 p.m. The two teams both finished 10-2 in the division and split their two meetings.

Tatyana Jenkins netted 18 points to lead the Knights on Tuesday.

Ja’Quela Dyer scored eight points to lead the Senators.

St. Thomas More 42, Dickinson 33: Sasha Marvel sank five three-pointers to finish with 15 points as the Ravens finished the regular season at 16-2.

DahNaija Barnes and Aniah Patterson both added 10 points for St. Thomas More, which held a 21-8 halftime lead.

William Penn 57, Smyrna 54: The Colonials outscored the Eagles, 22-16, in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory.

Jayla Smith (21 points), Melena Credle (14) and Ashunte Manigo (13) all scored in double figures for Smyrna (10-10).

Caravel 71, Woodbridge 42: The Raiders had a five-game winning streak snapped as they finish the regular season at 14-6.

Southern Division champion Woodbridge will play in the Henlopen Conference championship game on Friday at 6 p.m. at Dover.

College lacrosse

WOMEN, Delaware 12, LaSalle 7: Nine Blue Hens tallied at least one point as Delaware improved to 3-1.

La Salle scored first, but the Hens countered with nine of the game’s next 10 goals.

Senior Casey Lyons registered four points on two goals and two assists while junior Jamie Schwartz collected three points on two goals and an assist.

Softball

Hens’ Steinmetz honored: Delaware freshman Anna Steinmetz has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Rookie of the Week.

A catcher and DH, Steinmetz batted .500 with team-highs of four home runs and 10 RBI in the Blue Hens’ first six games of the season.

Basketball

Delle Donne, Sky returning to UD: The Chicago Sky is bringing a WNBA preseason game to Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center for the third consecutive year.

The game, played at the alma mater of reigning WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne, will feature the Sky against the New York Liberty on May 1. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

“Delaware has become a second home for us,” said Sky head coach/general manager Pokey Chatman. “The support we’ve received over the past three seasons has been unconditional. The BOB has become a familiar place for our players and an electric environment for WNBA basketball. This year, with the added excitement of Elena returning as MVP, will be very memorable.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale to the public on Feb. 29 at 8:30 a.m.
