Police ID man found at Dover pier

DOVER - On Thursday, the Delaware State Police said investigation into the death of a 24-year-old Dover man found at the Port Mahon Pier was ongoing.

Troopers were called to the fishing pier located in the 2300 block of Port Mahon Road at approximately 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday for the report of an unresponsive male, later identified as Dontray Hendricks. Troopers arrived and located the man. He was subsequently pronounced dead by Kent County Paramedics who had also responded to the scene.

Delaware State Police Homicide Unit detectives were then contacted and responded to the scene in order to assume the investigation.

Mr. Hendricks’ body was turned over to the Division of Forensic Sciences where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the manner and cause of death.

Detectives are conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities said no further details would be immediately released to not affect the investigation.

No suspect information was currtently available, police said.
