DOVER — The Downtown Dover Partnership announced Lori Llewellyn of My Roots, at 9 W Loockerman St., as the winner of the Downtown Dover Partnership Merchant Window Contest.

Businesses decorated for the theme “Love Local” and downtown Dover received an outpour of love for small businesses. The Delaware Division of Small Business was invited to judge this month’s contest.

Kent County Regional Business Manager Anastasia Jackson works closely with local merchants, and recently worked with Donny Legans, owner of Downtown Dover’s Rail Haus, providing assistance in the EDGE Grant application process.

During her judging, Ms. Jackson noted, “My Roots shows an amazing display that’s creative and shows off the love local theme and their merchandise. When traveling west through downtown Dover, their store really stood out to me!”

Ms. Jackson is available to assist small businesses owners with navigating the many resources available, including the EDGE Spring 2023 round opening March 1.

Store owner Lori Llewellyn responded to her win, which includes $100 from the Downtown Dover Partnership, sharing “we are excited and proud to be a part of the beautification of downtown Dover, and thank you to the judges for volunteering their time to participate. Please come downtown to see all our displays!”

My Roots is a clothing boutique and full-service hair salon, dedicated to providing top quality and trendy styling options for Dover.

The next window contest will decorate for the Dover Days Parade & Festival on May 6 with a through the theme “90 Years of Dover Days.” Merchants interested in participating can register now at DowntownDover.com, and visitors can view upcoming contest themes and photos of previous winners.
