DOVER — A 26-year-old man was hospitalized in stable condition after being shot multiple times on Sunday night, police said.

The Dover Police Department said it is seeking two male suspects who were in a dark colored sedan (black or blue) during the 6:46 p.m. incident on West Reed Street, just east of Kirkwood Street.

As investigation continued on Monday, the shooting was believed to be intentional, “especially with two persons firing the shots,” according to Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman.

The man was wounded in the upper and lower body, authorities said. Dover Police was notified of the shooting by 911 calls and the victim was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.

It was unknown whether other people were in the vicinity of the shooting, police said. A nearby home was struck by the gunfire, but no injuries resulted, according to authorities.

Charges are pending based on further investigation and arrests made, police said.

Police asked anyone with information to call 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.

Tips also can be submitted to law enforcement through lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333, at www.tipsubmit.com or through Dover Police’s MyPD mobile app.
