DOVER — A free event in celebration of National Poetry Month and Poem in Your Pocket Day, “Verses Going Vertical” will be held Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Old State House on The Green.
Some of the poets scheduled to appear are Linda Adams Blaskey, Angie Knott, Shelley Grabel, DeAnna Scott, Joyce Enzor, Angela LaVere, Bill Collison, Kari Ann Ebert and Taylor Collins. At the conclusion of the readings, there will be an open mic for anyone who may want to read.
As the finale, poets and attendees will read their “Poems in Their Pockets” from the dual staircases in the Old State House. Pocket poems — or short pieces by a living or deceased poet — will also be available for anyone without one.
For full details, check the QR Code on the Verses Going Vertical Facebook page.
If you are a poet and wish to have a scheduled time to read, call or text 302-670-0237.
