Two arrests made after vehicles burglarized in Seaford

SEAFORD — Two arrests were made after investigation into a series of thefts from vehicle occurring in early June, Delaware State Police said.

Police said that three vehicle break-ins and property thefts early June 7 were reported. Two incidents occurred on Baker Mill Road, police said, and the other happened on Spicer Court.

Afterwards, according to police, one of the suspects used one of the stolen credit cards at the Lowe’s in Seaford to buy nearly $3,200 worth of equipment.
Surveillance video showed two suspects, identified as Jaquan Adkins 32, of Millsboro, and Roger Wilson, 41, of Laurel, working together to make this purchase in Lowe’s and leaving in Mr. Adkins’ pickup truck, police said.

Police said Mr. Wilson was taken into custody June 18 and Mr. Adkins was located Wednesday. Both men were taken into custody without incident, police said.

Both men were charged with unlawful use of a payment card over $1,500, theft by false pretense over $1,500 and second- and degree conspiracy,
Mr. Wilson was also charged with two counts each of theft under $1,500 and third-degree criminal trespass. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on his own recognizance.

Mr. Adkins was also wanted for another theft of a purse from a car that occurred overnight June 7 in Seaford, police said.

Additionally, Mr. Adkins was charged with theft under $1,500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older, theft under $1,500 (three counts) and third-degree criminal trespass (four counts). He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance on the charges. He was ultimately committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,200 secured bond on a probation violation capias, police said.
