Speak Up: Throughout career, Delaware’s first Black House speaker has prioritized public service

If you told Speaker of the House Melissa Minor-Brown, D-New Castle, that she would soon become one of Delaware’s top legislative leaders when she was elected in 2018, she might not have believed you. Now, she is the first Black speaker in state history and just the second woman to hold the role.
