As election season approaches, Republican candidates are trying to take back seats in Delaware’s Democrat-controlled House of Representatives and Senate. However, in the state’s 16th Senate District, Republicans are challenging one of Delaware’s longest-tenured elected officials and one of their own — Sen. Colin Bonini, R-Dover. In the primary election Sept. 13, Sen. Bonini will have two Republicans — Kim Petters and Eric Buckson — battling him to represent the 16th District.
