Speak Up: State’s COVID hospitalizations more than double in a week
Posted
Delaware’s COVID-19 hospitalizations have more than doubled over the last seven days, and positive cases continue their surge, spurred on by the delta variant. The Delaware Division of Public Health reported 71 individuals hospitalized with the virus in its update Friday — the highest total since May 20. Hospitalizations were at 32 a week ago and were as low as 14 on June 26.
They’re going to try and shut down the schools soon. — Mike Needles
Oh, wake up, people. You all who refuse to be vaccinated because you’re afraid you’re going to be magnetized, the government is putting chips in you, or you’re going to die if you get one: You say it’s your choice. Well, it’s not. As long as you continue with this ridiculous frame of mind, we will never get rid of this virus. So what the heck, let’s just keep spreading it around to everyone we come in contact with. — Cory Flowers
1. All of the vaccines are still undergoing the largest-ever human drug trials. 2. None of the vaccines have been fully FDA-approved. The only approval is FDA-approved for “emergency use” to “potentially prevent fully vaccinated individuals from developing severe symptoms when infected.” The goal for the vaccines was and is to prevent those who were in high-risk groups from developing severe symptoms and overwhelming hospitals, medical providers and EMTs, and making hospital rooms full to capacity and the necessary medical equipment being fully in use. All while those who are infected can have their own immune system learn to recognize the virus and their own immune system develop ways to prevent them from developing severe symptoms. 3. None of the currently FDA-approved-for-emergency-use vaccines prevent anyone from being infected or reinfected. 4. Anyone — partially, fully or not vaccinated at all and who are infected or reinfected — is not prevented by any of the currently FDA-approved-for-emergency-use vaccines from being contagious. All are still contagious and, if not sanitizing, wearing a mask and/or social distancing, can spread the virus to others, fully vaccinated or not. This allows the virus to do what it is currently doing, spreading at a rapid rate to others. — Victoria M. Olds
Vaccine trials are not drug trials. You’re conflating two separate things. You’re also conflating a vaccine that was designed for one mutation not working as well against a second mutation. — Dale Bert
And we are getting these mutations because unvaccinated people are causing these mutations. If most were vaccinated six months ago, the virus would have nowhere to go, and then, it would just stop with mutations. — Cory Flowers
So how many illegals did Biden place here? — Howard Gaines III
Valid question, as neither Biden nor your own state government, press or health departments are issuing that information to the general public. — Victoria M. Olds
I bet illegals aren’t spreading COVID-19 near as much as anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers are. — Gary Greer
