Speak Up: State officials to rally against Texas abortion law

Posted

Planned Parenthood of Delaware and local Democratic lawmakers rallied against Texas’ recent law restricting abortion access. The law went into effect Wednesday and bans abortions beyond six weeks — a period before many people know they are pregnant. One of the biggest issues that the Delaware politicians have with the new legislation is that it awards $10,000 to citizens who successfully sue abortion providers.

  • How about if men stopped abandoning their property in a woman’s body? — Amy Walton
  • All choice. Their body, their choice. — Jack Jordan

  • Human life begins at conception. Therefore, it necessarily follows that abortion, at any time, always and without exception, is the deliberate taking of innocent human life. None of us here are going to stop abortion. But let none obfuscate away or try to fool others into thinking abortion is not the deliberate destruction of a developing human being. — Matt Bucher
  • OK, so here’s my question: If the “life” of a bunch of cells is so important to you, are you going to go and take care of a child whose mother was forced to conceive it and thus abandoned it when it was born? — Jaden Blondin
  • What part of allowing private citizens to turn in strangers to collect a bounty for having a medical procedure is common sense? — Stephanie Hart
  • Perhaps the Dems are getting a taste of what it is like watching them and their commonsense gun law legislation. — Bob Hice
  • Sure. Let me know when Democrats try to pass a law putting bounties on the heads of gun owners. — Stephanie Hart
  • Whether it be bounties, taxes, etc., it is an attack on one’s beliefs. — Bob Hice
  • Putting bounties on women seeking abortion isn’t an attack on beliefs. It’s an attack on actual flesh-and-blood women, who will suffer because of this law. — Stephanie Hart
