Speak Up: Response on new marijuana commissioner


Delaware has its first marijuana commissioner, former Delaware State Police Col. Robert Coupe, who has also served in leadership roles in the Department of Justice, the Department of Correction and the Department of Safety and Homeland Security. Among the commissioner’s duties listed in House Bill 2 will be the establishment of regulations for cultivation, sales, and health and safety; hearing complaints regarding commercial marijuana businesses; protecting products from imitation, adulteration and fraud; and the collection of data regarding retail sales. What should be considered as the state rolls toward the sale of recreational marijuana?
