One day before the 119th U.S. Congress began, Congresswoman-elect Sarah McBride boarded a train at the Joseph R. Biden Jr. Railroad Station in Wilmington en route to the nation’s capital. The former state senator is one of 65 newly elected members of the U.S. House of Representatives who were sworn in Jan. 3. She also is the first openly transgender member of Congress.
