Jordan McClements wrote an Opinion about potential solutions to the state’s overdose crisis.
I appreciate the writer’s intimate knowledge of the subject but feel he is lecturing the readers like me a bit too much. It seems his outlook about Delaware is too black and white, when, in fact, there is much gray. From what I’ve read over the last year or so, there have been efforts to create a longer-term treatment and residence program in Delaware. I think Delaware is trying to find ways to help drug users finally find sobriety, which is hard to do after short treatment programs. If drug users can gain true sobriety, then they, hopefully, can live a productive life instead of dying from an overdose. There was no mention of this in his article. — Name withheld
