It’s been 24/7 for three years straight.
Since March 23, 2020, the Little Creek Fire Co. has had a volunteer crew in the station and ready to immediately respond at all times.
That’s morning, noon and night without interruption for three years. It’s a duty model that arose as COVID-19 picked up steam and company leadership wanted to limit the number of people in the facility at one time.
Turns out, there were benefits that outlasted the original plan. For example, younger members were more apt to stay involved if they could schedule their time at the fire station.
