Speak Up: Kent County now requiring masks again in county buildings

Following an hourlong debate Aug. 17 on the ethics of requiring face masks, Kent County Levy Court commissioners approved mandating them again in county buildings, effective immediately.

• So employees have to show their vaccination papers? — Kelly Hamilton

• Never going to end, huh? Why not just shut it all down again? — Ty Wilkerson

• Did the employees get a different, more effective vaccine than I did? — Kevin McCarthy

• Please read the article. No one will have to show their vaccination cards, and we never did shut down Kent County government. This is a phased approach to respond to the virus if it continues to worsen with this or an even more dangerous variation or the next virus that mutates from a disease that is benign. — Jody Sweeney

• You know people don’t read articles. Six months ago, they couldn’t handle having to assist kids with schoolwork, and now, they are scientists, counselors and whatever else that knows more than the people sitting in that room discussing the events. — Theresa Taylor
