Speak Up: How’d your baseball team do?

Posted

All 30 teams were on the field for Major League Baseball opening day for the first time since 1968. The new pitch clock rule reportedly shortened the average game by 29 minutes, with a Chicago Cubs pitcher committing the first violation of that rule in the third inning. The Orioles made out well against Boston, but Philadelphia and Washington lost. Who is your team and how are you showing your support?

  • My Orioles had a great opening day, although it was a nail-biter for the eighth and ninth. — Lisa Swaim-Parker
  • Mine won! — Mary Eisberg Longshaw
  • Baseball is nothing more than a bunch of overpaid entertainers. — Jeffrey Eichelberger

Are you enjoying the blossoms?

Apparently, spring has sprung! We say “apparently” because, even though temperatures have reached into the 80s, with trees, flowers and shrubs popping out all over the bloomin’ place, the forecast could change at any time. Where are your favorite places in Delaware to enjoy the beauty of spring?

  • All the state parks. My favorite is Killens Pond. Then, the beaches. But, in my beautiful backyard in the countryside off Milford, there are beautiful blossoms of tulips and daffodils, plus birds. So many varieties. — Denise Sloboda Deskiewicz
