Five GOP-sponsored bills calling for reductions in income, sales and realty transfer taxes, as well as changes to ease burdens on seniors and homebuyers, were addressed in a release by the House of Representatives’ Minority Caucus. The five pending bills — some introduced more than a year ago — are past due for consideration in the General Assembly, according to the GOP release.
- I’ll be surprised if the Democrats agree. They’d rather tax us more so they can spend more then act like they did us a favor. I would rather see taxes and fees rolled back to the way they used to be or at least close. Property transfer tax is insane and DMV isn’t far behind — Jon Walczak
- As they should! — Amy Walton
- Thank God for the Republicans, who work for us, not against us. — Cindy Burge
- That is laughable. Many Republicans won’t even wear masks or get vaccinated. — Denise Ginger Ginger
- Us little people won’t see a dime. — Richard Damron
- What a novel idea: Return excess money collected to where it came from in the first place — we, the people. — Dennis Kirkwood
- When the state was in financial need, they saw fit to take from their seniors to shore up the gap. After recovering considerably the last couple of years, rather than restore what was taken, they gave out $1,000 checks to their employees. Move forward and pass HR 108. — Gerald Jerry Rice
